The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside—

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown—
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

Robert Louis Stevenson

Strawberry Blonde akachan is 9 months old now!

His fantastic bay Bubbe got him his first pair of baby Vans while we were in Denver. She even hooked him up with his 1st tuxedo now he’s snappy in every sense of the word. I got such a kick out of hearing them sing together.Happy that she’s found a new place as well. We wouldn’t have been able to get our current place without her help, now were townhouse twins.

Our family vacation was first-rate. Glad that my son got to spend some quality time with his Great Auntie Ga-Ga. Plus he got to chill with his papa.
Picked up a high chair for my cutie this weekend. He is doing Downward Facing Dog AKA precursor to walking pose all the time now poor kid I don’t think the area where we live scores will be scoring many walkability points when the snow arrives. Our 9 month old has turned into such a chatterbox when he’s happy =)

Super Easy & delectable recipe

Maple-Glazed Tofu

(from a most excellent cookbook: Fresh Food Fast, by Peter Berley)

1 1/2 pounds extra-firm tofu, drained
5 tbsp. soy sauce
3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
3 tbsp. maple syrup
3 garlic cloves, sliced
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

Wrap tofu in a clean kitchen towel and press gently but firmly to extract excess water. Cut the tofu into 8 slices.

In a large saute pan, arrange the tofu in a single layer.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oil, maple syrup, garlic, and red pepper flakes and pour over the tofu.

Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and cook for 4 minutes. Flip the pieces and cook, uncovered, until almost dry, about 4 to 5 minutes.

10x this recipe is good for a 30-person meal, with a grain and vegetable. Bake tofu with sauce uncovered in two long pans at 400f convection, stirring frequently.

Mignon utterly delighted by a bird that’s about a foot away. The blue of his stroller really makes his eyes pop!
